Summer Special

The suma summer special is a food offering on the suma app.
The offering lets you buy vouchers that can be used to buy produce and packaged goods at that farmers market.

First time buyers: Every market season you can get a first-time-buyer special: $24 worth of vouchers for $5.

Returning buyers: You can buy up to 15 $2 vouchers for $1 each. (Example: If you buy 15 vouchers, your $15 gives you $30 in vouchers to spend at the market.)

The suma special is available to all validated suma users. Suma works with our partners to ensure new users are eligible for the suma app and its products, discounts, and subsidies. This allows us to “validate” a new user.

To become a validated user, upon sign up suma will ask you if you are accessing programming, like housing, job training or food assistance, at the following suma partners:

Most prepaid debit cards should work. But, some prepaid debit cards can’t be used for “online purchases” at times so please keep this in mind.

Unfortunately at the moment users can’t pay with cash. The team is planning to add more payment options in the future.

You can not get change from the vouchers.

Vendors at the market are familiar with SNAP EBT and suma vouchers and will work with folks to maximize their $2 value vouchers.
