The holiday special is a food offering on the suma app where you can buy a holiday meal at a discounted price.

This year we’re teaming up with Sheridan Fruit Co. and Black Girl Veggies to provide holiday meals on the suma app. You’ll be able to choose one meal from only one of these vendors. Both of these meals will be priced at $10.

The Sheridan Fruit Co. meal will include:

• • Your choice of turkey or ham
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Dinner rolls
  • Savory herbed stuffing
  • Gravy 
  • Roasted green beans
  • Pumpkin pie

Black Girl Veggies will be providing a fully vegan meal which includes:

• • Fried chick’n (enoike mushrooms, rice flour, canola oil, seasonings)
  • Mac and Cheeze (chickpea pasta, vegan cheddar cheese, coconut milk, nutritional yeast, spices)
  • Collard Greens (garlic, onions, spices)
  • Cornbread (rice flours <white, sweet white, brown, corn>, tapioca and potato starch, baking powder, sea salt )
  • Butternut Squash (herbs and nutritional yeast)
  • Sweet potato pie (garnet sweet potatoes, GF crust, coconut milk, agave, vegan butter, spices)

Hacienda CDC users- you have the additional option to choose packets from Tienda Doña Maria. You may choose to purchase one ($5) or both of the following: 

• • $75 packet:
    • 2 cans of maiz 6 lbs each
    • 4 bags of guajillo chiles 2.5 oz each
    • 1 bag of oregano 4 oz
    • 1 package of tostadas 12.8 oz
    • 1 package tortilla chips 11 oz
    • 2 packages of tamale leaves 1 lbs each
    • 1 vegetable shortening 16 oz
    • 2 maseca tamales 4 lbs each
  • $50 packet:
    • Mexican bread 12 pieces
    • Milk 1 gallon
    • chocolate abuelita tablet 19 oz
    • 1 nescafe 3.5 oz
    • 2 rolls of marias cookies 

* If you would like to purchase both packets, please make sure to select the option with both packets, you will not be able to select the packets individually.

Ordering for the holiday special will open on November 20th at 3pm and will be open until December 8th, or until it is sold out. 

For this offering, users can only purchase one meal.

Hacienda CDC users can purchase either one meal from Sheridan Fruit Co., or one meal from Black Girl Veggies, or packet(s) from Tienda Doña Maria. If you order from Tienda Doña Maria, you can select one or both packets. If you would like to purchase both packets, please select the offering with both packets. You will not be able to purchase the packets individually.

Purchase the Holiday Special in the suma app (app.mysuma.org)

You will have the option to pick up from these locations:

    • Hacienda CDC users: For meals order from Tienda Doña Maria, pick up is only at Tienda Doña Maria  6736 NE Killingsworth St, Portland, OR 97218

If you ordered meals from Sheridan Fruit Co. or Black Girl Veggies, you will be able to pick up your meal from the community location you selected at checkout.

    • New Columbia: December 23rd from 3pm-6pm
    • Our Just Future: December 23rd from 2pm-4pm

• • • Hacienda CDC users, if you are picking up from Tienda Doña Maria, you can pick up from Tuesday, December 17 to Saturday December 21.

No problem, just make sure you pass along your confirmation number with the last four digits of your phone number to whoever is picking up your order. They can show up to the location you selected and retrieve the order with that information.

Sheridan Fruit Co and Black Girl Veggies will provide an already cooked and prepared meal. All the meals will come with reheating instructions.

Meals from Sheridan Fruit Co. will last 3-4 days.
Meals from Black Girl Veggies will last 2-3 days, except the mushrooms which will only last one day.

Due to partner and budget capacity, we only have a certain amount of total meals available. We have a set number available for each meal based on our estimations of what folks will order. Based on orders, we may make more of another meal available depending on the demand.

The meals will cost $10 to suma users.

If you are with Hacienda CDC and order a packet, they are $5. If you order both packets they will be $10.
